In collaboration with DC Vintage Watches, we are excited to offer this Benrus Series 3021 watch and lookbook, along with three Clockwork Synergy Straps. See how to enter at the end of this post.
Selected for this month’s giveaway is a late 1950s Benrus Series 3021 gold-cased mechanical watch. The American-founded Benrus was founded in 1921 in New York City, and went on to produce watches for the United States government during both WWII (as well as fuses used in munitions) and Vietnam – and second only to the well-known Hamilton watch company in production numbers. Building on its military contributions, Benrus also brought its well-produced watches to the civilian market, including this Series 3021.
The 34mm 3021 features a one-piece stainless steel case, encased in gold – the same case used for Benrus’ well-known pilot watches of the Vietnam War-era. However, during the late 1970s Benrus, suffering heavily from the so-called “quartz crisis,” filed for bankruptcy in 1977. Fast forward to 2014, which witnessed Benrus’ resurrection as a wristwatch company – its easy to see the timelessness of these beautiful mechanical watches!
